Nooki is a Reddit-like client built on the ATProtocol

I've been keeping an eye on a new project that surfaced earlier this week on Bluesky. It's an independent project by user LakshikaG to make a Reddit-like client that lets users sign in with Bluesky credentials.
Unlike other ATProto projects, this one isn't just another version of your timeline. Instead, it's a fully functional, independent website where you create and follow communities, make posts, and upvote those you like. In the past week since the public launch, I've seen three significant point updates go out that have already vastly improved the tool and addressed user concerns.
My only wish is that there was an iPhone app.
I made the c/Apple community. I'd love to see everyone make accounts, comment, and post under c/Apple. We desperately need an alternative place like this for longer-threaded discussions of Apple and tech, and I think this could be a good one.
Here's a long-form post I made on Apple Intelligence if you want to see the website in action.
I believe clients like this are interesting because Bluesky and Mastodon both represent a new way forward for the social internet. We get to own our content and have a centralized login that loops it all together.
The reason why I'm discussing nooki instead of something like the Federated Lemmy is because I still feel like Bluesky is the more understandable mainstream service. Federation and Mastodon has its place, but it's much more niche simply because of how it is laid out.
There doesn't need to be a winner or loser here. Both Federation and ATProto represent users saying no to billionaires. I just believe we'll see more market penetration with Bluesky in the long term.
I'm writing this blog post on Ghost, which is a federated service. They all can exist. I'm excited for what else might be built on ATProto and where nooki will go from here.
