Hi, Wesley Hilliard here. I've been thinking about starting some kind of blog for years now. Considering my job is to write about Apple and tech full-time at AppleInsider, I never thought I'd want to do even more writing in my free time. However, as time passed, I noticed there was more I wanted to say that just didn't fit in with my work.
In case you don't know me, I'm a tech writer, journalist, enthusiast – whatever you want to call it. I work primarily from an iPad Pro, love my Apple Vision Pro, and have many interests. If you want to know more, you'll have to read the blog or reach out and ask.
Social media has become a trash fire, so I didn't feel like I was getting my thoughts out in a format and location that felt productive or useful. Threads I write on Mastodon would get lengthy, and it seemed as if people only saw one or two parts, which was out of order and frustrating to me.
If you're reading this, then there's a good chance you already follow me on Mastodon. I want to use this space to share my thoughts that don't make sense for AppleInsider. I also want to share opinions on news I've written, share work I enjoy from other writers, and generally have a space to point people to.
If there's interest, this could expand. Ghost allows you to create memberships, add comments to posts, and even send out newsletters. I'm not against making a paid subscription eventually, but I have no idea what that would even look like.
