Designed in California: An Apple History Podcast is a new show from the minds of Jason Snell and Myke Hurley. It just hit Kickstarter and promises at least 30 episodes over 12 months.

The funding hasn't started just yet, but go ahead and sign up to be notified for the launch on Kickstarter.

This is the 50th anniversary of Apple, one of the most important companies of our era. Across the decades, the company has had great successes and calamitous failures, but it’s always remained a unique player that has transformed our culture and how we use technology.
Episodes will be written by Jason, who has been covering Apple professionally as a journalist for two-thirds of its existence. Our sources will include books about Apple (many of them long out of print), period magazines, oral histories, and Jason’s own experiences covering Apple from the 1990s to today.

I really enjoyed the episode of Upgrade that acts as the pilot of this series. I have a feeling this is going to be a great show and I'll certainly be jumping on the Kickstarter.

Now if only it came with a bespoke physical Apple Calendar.

Here's a pitch: instead of needing to make a new calendar each year, have a simple flip-style day calendar without the days of the week, just month and day, with snippets about "Today in Apple history." That way, it could be used year after year without a problem.

Maybe they should talk to their buddy Stephen Hackett.
